Encryption in transit and at rest, read-only bank access, and an activity log. WriteOff is in beta and we describe our security posture as it actually is, not as we hope it will look. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Read-Only Bank Access
We connect through a bank-data aggregator with read-only access. WriteOff cannot initiate transactions, move money, or modify your accounts.
We Don't Want Your SSN
WriteOff is built for business identifiers like EINs. We ask you not to upload Social Security numbers or government ID documents outside the W-9 and 1099 features, and we attempt to detect and clear them from uploaded receipts and invoices automatically. Detection is best-effort and not guaranteed.
Activity Log
AI recommendations and the decisions you made on them are recorded with a timestamp, so you can see how your books were arrived at. We don't warrant a log is complete.
Clear Disclaimers
WriteOff is bookkeeping software, not a licensed tax preparer. Estimates and recommendations carry a disclaimer, and we cite IRS guidance where we can.
